ABOUT US

The Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, a major tourist spot in Yokohama, is a cultural and commercial facility that utilizes two historical buildings constructed more than a century ago. It was built as a government bonded warehouse during the Meiji and Taisho eras and, as Japan’s first modern port facility, played an important role in the nation’s development. It stopped being used as a warehouse in 1989, later undergoing nine years of conservation and renovation work until reopening in 2002 as a cultural and commercial facility.
The brick buildings house a range of cafes, restaurants and shops, while all kinds of seasonal events and performances are held in the event plaza between the two buildings or in the hall space in Building No.1, the cultural facility. As evening falls, the seafront buildings light up to create a magical atmosphere.
